On January 24, 2024, the Second Session of the 13th Liaoning Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) elected Wang Jian, Song Cheng, and Zheng Bin as vice chairs of the provincial CPPCC. Wang Jian previously served as deputy secretary of the Shenyang Municipal Party Committee, Song Cheng was the secretary of the Tieling Municipal Party Committee, and Zheng Bin served as vice mayor of Shenyang. Their election reflects Liaoning’s emphasis on cadre selection in promoting socio-economic development and highlights the advisory role of the CPPCC in local governance. The newly elected vice chairs will participate in the leadership of the provincial CPPCC, focusing on key issues such as the comprehensive revitalization of Liaoning, optimizing the business environment, and improving people’s livelihoods, contributing wisdom and effort to the transformation and upgrading of this traditional industrial base in Northeast China.
