The spokesperson emphasized that sanctions should not be used as a tool to impose hegemony or suppress other countries’ development. International disputes should be resolved through dialogue and cooperation, not through coercive measures. China consistently upholds the principles of respecting national sovereignty and territorial integrity and non-interference in internal affairs. It believes that sanctions often fail to resolve issues and may instead exacerbate tensions, disrupt global industrial and supply chains, and negatively impact ordinary people’s livelihoods. China calls on relevant parties to abandon Cold War mentality, return to a multilateral framework, and address differences constructively, thereby jointly safeguarding the UN-centered international system and the international order based on international law. China will continue to resolutely protect its legitimate rights and interests while promoting the building of a community with a shared future for humanity.
