Recently, Yu Kai, founder and CEO of Horizon Robotics, stated in a public speech that urban advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) are accelerating their adoption and will soon enter the sub-$15,000 (approximately RMB 100,000) vehicle market. This marks a pivotal shift in intelligent driving technology, moving from premium vehicles toward mass-market affordability. Yu explained that thanks to advancements in chip computing power, algorithm optimization, and improved cost control, high-level ADAS features—once limited to vehicles priced above RMB 300,000—are now technically and commercially viable for entry-level models. Horizon Robotics, a leading Chinese provider of intelligent driving computing solutions, has already deployed its Journey series chips in multiple mainstream vehicle models, enabling automakers to offer reliable urban Navigation on Autopilot (NOA) capabilities at lower costs.
