Recently, the Fujian Coast Guard conducted law enforcement patrols near Kinmen waters to safeguard China’s maritime rights and interests and ensure maritime order and safety. This operation is a routine enforcement activity carried out in accordance with the ‘People’s Republic of China Coast Guard Law’ and other relevant regulations. It focuses on cracking down on illegal activities such as unlicensed fishing, smuggling, and illegal immigration, while also strengthening the regulation of vessels operating at sea. Kinmen, located off the southeastern coast of Fujian Province, lies just across a narrow strait from the mainland and holds significant strategic importance. Through frequent and comprehensive patrols, the Fujian Coast Guard has effectively deterred various maritime violations, demonstrating China’s sovereignty and law enforcement authority over its jurisdictional waters. Moreover, such operations help promote standardized and peaceful cross-strait maritime exchanges, reflecting the mainland’s firm stance in upholding the one-China principle and opposing any form of ‘Taiwan independence’ separatist activities.
