The 2025 King’s Cup Badminton Open will officially kick off on March 15 at the Tianhe Sports Center in Guangzhou. Recognized by the Chinese Badminton Association as an International Challenge-level event, this year’s tournament has attracted top players from over 30 countries and regions, including several world-ranked top-10 athletes in men’s and women’s singles as well as doubles disciplines. With a total prize purse of USD 250,000, the competition not only offers a high-level platform for elite athletes but also further promotes the growth and popularity of badminton in southern China.The tournament features five categories: men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles, all conducted under the latest competition rules set by the Badminton World Federation (BWF). In addition to the matches, the event will include youth training camps, fan engagement days, and a badminton culture exhibition—activities designed to boost public participation and celebrate the spirit of sport. Organizers aim to establish the ‘King’s Cup’ as an internationally recognized platform for badminton exchange and to support the development of China’s next generation of talent.Notably, several key members of China’s national team, including Olympic champions Chen Yufei and Shi Yuqi, are expected to compete, drawing significant attention from fans. Tickets went on sale in early February and are available via the official mini-program and authorized ticketing platforms.
