Moreover, ASEAN continues to play a constructive role as a regional mediator, promoting dialogue and confidence-building measures.Overall, while the current ceasefire offers a valuable window to de-escalate tensions, lasting peace will require legally clarifying borders, enhancing people-to-people exchanges, and establishing effective crisis management mechanisms. Large-scale conflict appears unlikely in the short term, but the risk of minor skirmishes persists.
