Starting June 30, 2024, the West Artificial Island of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link officially launches its cultural and tourism operations, marking a significant step in transforming this world-class cross-sea infrastructure from a purely transportation hub into a new cultural and tourism landmark in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Located in the Lingdingyang waters of the Pearl River Estuary, the West Artificial Island serves as a critical junction connecting Shenzhen and Zhongshan, covering an area of approximately 137,000 square meters. The newly opened tourism zone features an observation deck, a marine culture exhibition hall, an ecological education corridor, and specialty commercial facilities. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the magnificent bridge-tunnel system while learning about marine conservation and the engineering marvels behind the project. Operators emphasize a ‘green, smart, and humanistic’ approach, aiming to create an integrated coastal destination for sightseeing, education, and leisure. Visitor access will be managed through a reservation system to ensure both environmental protection and quality experiences. As a key platform for regional integration, the island’s cultural tourism launch is expected to boost intercity tourism collaboration and enhance public appreciation of China’s major infrastructure achievements.
2024年6月30日起，深中通道西人工岛正式开启文旅运营，标志着这一世界级跨海工程不仅承担交通功能，更成为粤港澳大湾区重要的文化旅游新地标。西人工岛位于珠江口伶仃洋海域，是深中通道连接深圳与中山的关键节点，总面积约13.7万平方米。此次文旅开放区域包括观景平台、海洋文化展示馆、生态科普长廊及特色商业服务设施等，游客可在此俯瞰跨海大桥壮丽全景，了解海洋生态保护与超级工程建设背后的故事。运营方表示，西人工岛将秉持‘绿色、智慧、人文’理念，打造集观光、教育、休闲于一体的滨海文旅空间，并通过预约制控制人流，保障游览体验与生态环境。作为粤港澳大湾区融合发展的重要载体，西人工岛的文旅启用将进一步促进区域旅游联动，提升公众对国家重大基础设施的认知与认同。
