Recently, the Eastern Theater Command of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) conducted realistic aerial combat drills, including air-to-air confrontation exercises, in designated airspace. Through high-intensity, high-difficulty scenarios, pilots honed their abilities to make rapid tactical decisions and execute missions under challenging conditions such as intense electromagnetic interference and multi-target threats. The Eastern Theater Command stated that these exercises are a key component of its annual training schedule, aimed at safeguarding national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and firmly upholding security and stability in areas including the East China Sea and the Taiwan Strait. The drills strictly adhered to international law and aviation regulations, were not directed at any specific country or target, and reflect China’s consistent commitment to a defensive national defense policy.
