Recently, some online streamers sought viral attention by conducting inappropriate live broadcasts at martyrs’ cemeteries—even stepping on martyrs’ tombstones—sparking widespread public outrage. In response, cyber police swiftly intervened, stating clearly: such acts gravely desecrate the dignity of heroes and martyrs and cross fundamental moral boundaries; they will not be tolerated under any circumstances. According to China’s Heroes and Martyrs Protection Law and related internet regulations, any distortion, disparagement, desecration, or denial of the deeds and spirit of heroes and martyrs is subject to strict legal penalties. Cyber authorities emphasized that cyberspace is not beyond the law, and all live-streamed content must comply with legal standards and societal ethics. Platforms must also fulfill their responsibilities by strengthening content moderation to prevent similar incidents. The public is urged to collectively uphold the honor of heroes and firmly reject such misconduct online. Only through these efforts can we foster a clean, respectful, and civilized digital environment.
