Recently, the Chengdu-Chongqing Expressway expansion and upgrading project has made significant progress. According to the Sichuan Provincial Department of Transportation, the project has now entered the full construction phase, with embankment widening and bridge reinforcement already completed on certain sections. As a vital transportation corridor linking Chengdu and Chongqing—two national central cities—the expressway has been operating under heavy traffic loads since its opening in 1995. With the accelerated development of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, the current road capacity can no longer meet growing transportation demands. The upgrade will expand the entire route from four lanes to eight lanes and enhance intelligent management systems, including additional ETC gantries, smart surveillance, and emergency response facilities. The project is expected to be completed by 2026, further reducing travel time between the two cities, improving regional transport efficiency, and strongly supporting the development of the Western Land-Sea New Passage and the Chengdu-Chongqing world-class city cluster.
近日，成渝高速公路改扩建项目迎来重要进展。据四川省交通运输厅消息，该项目已进入全面施工阶段，部分路段已完成路基拓宽和桥梁加固工作。作为连接成都与重庆两大国家中心城市的重要交通动脉，成渝高速自1995年建成通车以来，长期处于高负荷运行状态。随着成渝地区双城经济圈建设加速推进，现有道路通行能力已难以满足日益增长的交通需求。此次改扩建工程将全线由双向四车道升级为双向八车道，并同步提升智能化管理水平，包括增设ETC门架、智能监控系统和应急救援设施等。项目预计2026年完工，建成后将进一步缩短成渝两地通行时间，提升区域交通效率，有力支撑西部陆海新通道建设和成渝世界级城市群发展。
