In June 2024, Hefei West Railway Station officially commenced operations, marking a significant upgrade to Hefei’s railway hub layout and regional transportation capacity. As a key node in China’s national ‘Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal’ high-speed rail network, the station is located in Shushan District, Hefei, with a total construction area of approximately 80,000 square meters and featuring 6 platforms and 14 tracks, capable of accommodating over 10,000 passengers simultaneously. Designed with modern smart technologies, the station integrates facial recognition, contactless security screening, and intelligent navigation systems to greatly enhance travel efficiency and passenger experience. Hefei West primarily serves trains on major lines such as the Yangtze River High-Speed Railway, Hefei–Anqing High-Speed Railway, and Hefei–Fuzhou High-Speed Railway, and will soon connect to trunk lines like the Beijing–Hong Kong High-Speed Railway. Its opening not only alleviates passenger congestion at Hefei South Station but also strengthens Hefei’s role as a national comprehensive transportation hub, further advancing the high-quality integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region.
2024年6月，合肥西站正式投入运营，标志着合肥市铁路枢纽布局进一步优化，区域交通能级显著提升。作为国家‘八纵八横’高速铁路网的重要节点，合肥西站位于合肥市蜀山区，总建筑面积约8万平方米，设6台14线，可同时容纳上万名旅客。车站采用现代化智能设计，集成人脸识别、无感安检、智能引导等先进技术，极大提升了旅客出行效率与体验。合肥西站主要承担沿江高铁、合安高铁、合福高铁等多条线路的始发和通过列车任务，未来还将接入京港高铁等干线，成为连接长三角与中西部地区的重要交通枢纽。它的启用不仅缓解了合肥南站的客流压力，也为合肥打造全国性综合交通枢纽城市提供了有力支撑，进一步推动长三角一体化高质量发展。
