Second, investors, wary of valuation bubbles and unclear commercialization paths, are growing more cautious—especially toward startups without clear real-world applications. Third, end users report that deployed robots often suffer from redundant features, high costs, and complex maintenance, making them impractical replacements for human labor. Additionally, regulatory uncertainty, data privacy concerns, and ethical debates further cloud the sector’s outlook. Importantly, this ‘cold water’ does not deny the long-term potential of robotics; rather, it urges the industry to adopt a more grounded approach—focusing on genuine user needs and technological maturity. Only then can the robotics field evolve from hype to substance and achieve sustainable growth.
