In June 2024, Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks with visiting South Korean President Lee Jae-myung at the Great Hall of the People. Both sides also reached consensus on resuming negotiations for an upgraded China-ROK Free Trade Agreement, strengthening youth exchanges, and addressing climate change. The meeting injected new momentum into bilateral ties and contributed positively to peace and development in Northeast Asia and beyond.
