In response, a spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that China and Venezuela have long maintained a friendly and cooperative relationship, with frequent high-level exchanges aimed at deepening political mutual trust, expanding practical cooperation, and promoting shared development. China consistently adheres to the principles of mutual respect, equality, and mutual benefit in its relations with Venezuela and supports Venezuela’s efforts to safeguard national sovereignty and stability. This meeting is part of the normal diplomatic engagement between the two countries and reflects their coordination and collaboration on international affairs. China will continue strengthening communication with Venezuela within multilateral frameworks such as the United Nations to jointly advance the vision of a community with a shared future for humanity.The Ministry emphasized that China-Venezuela cooperation is not directed against any third party nor influenced by external interference; it is entirely based on the fundamental interests of both peoples. Going forward, the two sides will further enhance cooperation in areas such as energy, trade, science and technology, and cultural exchanges, bringing greater benefits to their citizens.
