A spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Tokyo’s moves are cause for concern and urged Japan to remain committed to a path of peaceful development and genuinely respect the security concerns of its Asian neighbors.China emphasized that if Japan’s adjustments in military and security policy deviate from the spirit of its pacifist constitution and enhance offensive military capabilities, it could negatively impact regional peace and stability. Beijing stressed that security in the Asia-Pacific should be jointly upheld by all countries, not achieved through exaggerating external threats or expanding armaments. China called on Japan to learn from history, adhere to the principle of exclusive defense, and refrain from any actions that might undermine regional strategic balance.Furthermore, China reaffirmed that as important neighbors, China and Japan should properly manage differences based on mutual respect and seeking common ground while managing differences, working together to promote regional peace and prosperity. Any attempt to challenge the post-war international order or break away from the framework of peaceful development would run counter to the shared interests of countries in the region.
