Recently, China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a firm statement regarding the United States’ so-called ‘prosecution’ of Venezuela, stressing that such actions seriously violate Venezuela’s national sovereignty and judicial independence, contravening fundamental principles of international law and the UN Charter. China emphasized that no country should interfere in the internal affairs of another under the pretext of its domestic laws, nor impose its legal system extraterritorially. Venezuela is a sovereign state, and its internal matters must be decided by the Venezuelan people themselves—external powers have no right to overstep their bounds. China consistently advocates resolving international disputes through dialogue and cooperation, opposing unilateral sanctions and extraterritorial jurisdiction. It calls on relevant countries to respect the basic norms of international relations, cease all forms of hegemonic conduct, and jointly uphold global fairness, justice, peace, and stability.
