Starting June 15, 2024, high-speed train service has been launched for the first time between Beijing and Yan’an, officially connecting this historic revolutionary site to China’s national high-speed rail network. The new train departs from Beijing West Railway Station and terminates at Yan’an Station, covering the distance in approximately 6.5 hours—nearly five hours faster than previous conventional trains. The route passes through Hebei, Shanxi, and Shaanxi provinces, significantly enhancing regional connectivity and boosting red tourism and local economic development along the corridor. As a key component of China’s 14th Five-Year Plan for integrated transportation, the Beijing–Yan’an high-speed rail strengthens links between the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and northern Shaanxi, offering travelers a faster and more comfortable journey. This initiative also reflects China Railway’s ongoing commitment to revitalizing old revolutionary areas and improving public welfare.
