These ‘failures’ or ‘flip-overs’ mainly stem from criticisms that such content is superficial, sensationalized, and sometimes even涉嫌 animal cruelty or violations of food safety regulations. Traditionally, the pig-slaughtering banquet is a folk custom in certain rural areas of China, held during major festivals or the Lunar New Year. Only by authentically conveying their social function and humanistic values can such traditions be meaningfully preserved and shared in the digital age.
