In 2023, the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) received a total of 1,488 proposals from its members, all of which have now been formally responded to, achieving a 100% response rate. These proposals focused on key areas such as high-quality development of the capital, urban governance, improvement of people’s livelihoods, and ecological conservation, reflecting the committee members’ strong sense of responsibility in serving the broader national agenda. Many of these proposals have been adopted by relevant government departments and translated into concrete policy measures, effectively advancing socio-economic development in Beijing and addressing pressing public concerns. For instance, recommendations on transportation optimization, elderly care services, educational equity, and green, low-carbon initiatives have already been implemented with positive results. The Beijing CPPCC has continuously enhanced the effectiveness of its proposal system by improving consultation mechanisms, strengthening follow-up supervision, and conducting quality assessments, thereby contributing valuable insights and support to the capital’s development in the new era.
