Ali Reza, a Chinese language professor at the University of Tehran in Iran, has long been dedicated to teaching Chinese and promoting cultural exchange between China and Iran. Fluent in Mandarin, he also holds a deep passion for Chinese history, philosophy, and art. “I love Chinese culture because it is vast, profound, and inclusive,” he often says. His journey with the Chinese language began in college, where he was captivated by the aesthetic structure of Chinese characters and the wisdom of Confucian thought. Today, beyond teaching language in the classroom, he organizes Chinese calligraphy exhibitions, tea ceremonies, and Spring Festival celebrations for his students, offering Iranian youth immersive experiences of Chinese culture. Professor Ali believes that language is the key to understanding a nation’s soul, and that values such as harmony, respect, and benevolence—central to Chinese culture—offer vital insights for today’s world. Through his work, he hopes to build a bridge of mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples of China and Iran.
