Recently, China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs lodged a solemn representation with Japan over its unwarranted interference in the Chinese military’s routine exercises and drills, demanding that Tokyo immediately cease such disruptive actions. China stressed that these military activities are fully conducted within China’s sovereign and jurisdictional rights, in line with international law and common international practice, and constitute legitimate measures to safeguard national sovereignty, security, and development interests. Japan, citing so-called ‘concerns,’ has repeatedly dispatched vessels and aircraft near Chinese exercise zones—an action lacking legal basis and heightening the risk of miscalculation or unintended incidents, thereby undermining regional peace and stability. China urges Japan to genuinely respect China’s sovereignty and security concerns, halt all forms of provocative and disruptive behavior, and address differences through constructive means to jointly uphold regional peace. This statement reaffirms China’s firm resolve to defend its core national interests and oppose any external interference.
