In June 2024, the Shandong Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision announced that Zhang Dianhu, former vice mayor of Rizhao City, had been expelled from both the Chinese Communist Party and public office (commonly referred to as ‘shuang kai’ or ‘double dismissal’) due to serious violations of discipline and law. The investigation revealed that Zhang had abandoned his ideals and original mission, breached the CPC Central Committee’s Eight-point Regulation on improving conduct, and accepted gifts and cash that could influence the impartial performance of his duties. He also abused his official position to seek benefits for others in areas such as construction contracts and project approvals, accepting massive illicit payments in return—acts涉嫌 constituting bribery. His misconduct severely damaged the local political ecosystem and business environment, with grave consequences. In accordance with the CCP Disciplinary Regulations and the PRC Supervision Law, and following approval by the provincial Party committee, Zhang was expelled from the Party and dismissed from public office; his ill-gotten gains were confiscated; and his suspected criminal case was transferred to prosecutors for legal review and prosecution. This case reaffirms the Chinese leadership’s unwavering commitment to comprehensive Party self-governance and zero tolerance for corruption.
2024年6月，山东省纪委监委发布通报，日照市原副市长张佃虎因严重违纪违法被开除党籍和公职（即‘双开’）。经查，张佃虎丧失理想信念，背弃初心使命，违反中央八项规定精神，收受可能影响公正执行公务的礼品礼金；利用职务便利为他人在工程承揽、项目审批等方面谋取利益，并非法收受巨额财物，涉嫌受贿犯罪。其行为严重破坏了当地政治生态和营商环境，性质恶劣，影响极坏。依据《中国共产党纪律处分条例》《中华人民共和国监察法》等有关规定，经省纪委常委会会议研究并报省委批准，决定给予张佃虎开除党籍处分；由省监委给予其开除公职处分；收缴其违纪违法所得；将其涉嫌犯罪问题移送检察机关依法审查起诉。此案再次彰显了党中央坚定不移推进全面从严治党、坚决惩治腐败的鲜明态度和坚定决心。
