Recently, the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee convened a meeting to analyze and study China’s economic work for 2024. The meeting noted that while China’s economy continues its recovery and maintains a fundamentally positive long-term outlook, challenges persist—including a complex external environment, insufficient domestic demand, and overcapacity in certain sectors. It stressed that high-quality development remains the top priority, calling for deepening reform and opening-up, expanding domestic demand, optimizing economic structure, boosting market confidence, and guarding against risks. On macroeconomic policy, China will continue implementing a proactive fiscal policy and a prudent monetary policy, enhancing both counter-cyclical and cross-cyclical adjustments to ensure adequate liquidity.
