Such actions not only violate the One-China Principle but also seriously undermine peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait. The PLA Daily reaffirmed that the Chinese military possesses the firm resolve, full confidence, and sufficient capability to thwart any form of separatist schemes for ‘Taiwan independence.’ It stressed that arms transfers from external forces cannot alter the fundamental balance of power across the strait nor shake China’s unwavering determination to safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity. The article urged Taiwan’s authorities to recognize the prevailing historical trend, abandon illusions of ‘independence,’ and return to the right path of peaceful cross-strait development.
