On another, some firms are using financial instruments like long-term supply contracts and hedging to manage raw material price risks. Additionally, the industry is exploring alternative materials like silver-coated copper or silver alloys to lessen reliance on pure silver.However, these alternatives cannot fully offset cost increases in the short term, especially as high-efficiency cell technologies have yet to achieve mass production. Therefore, PV manufacturers must strike a balance between cost control, technological innovation, and supply chain management, while also urging upstream suppliers to enhance material availability and price stability to ensure the healthy and sustainable development of the entire solar value chain.
