In June 2024, the Chengdu Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision of Sichuan Province announced that Zhang Jun, former chairperson of the Longquanyi District Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), has been expelled from both the Communist Party and public office—commonly referred to as ‘double expulsion’ or ‘shuang kai.’ The investigation revealed that Zhang had abandoned his ideals and original mission, violated the CPC Central Committee’s Eight-point Regulation on improving conduct, and accepted gifts and cash that could influence the impartial execution of his duties. He also abused his position to seek benefits for others in areas such as construction contracts and project approvals, accepting massive bribes in the process, thus涉嫌 (suspected of) committing bribery offenses. His actions gravely breached Party discipline, constituted official misconduct, and涉嫌 criminal activity, with serious consequences and negative impact. In accordance with the CPC Disciplinary Regulations and the PRC Supervision Law, and following approval by the Chengdu Municipal Party Committee, Zhang was expelled from the Party and removed from public office. His illicit gains were confiscated, and his case has been transferred to prosecutorial authorities for legal review and potential indictment. This case underscores the Chinese Communist Party’s unwavering commitment to strict self-governance and its zero-tolerance stance against corruption.
2024年6月，四川省成都市纪委监委发布通报，龙泉驿区政协原主席张军因严重违纪违法被开除党籍和公职（即‘双开’）。经查，张军丧失理想信念，背弃初心使命，违反中央八项规定精神，收受可能影响公正执行公务的礼品礼金；利用职务便利为他人在工程承揽、项目审批等方面谋取利益，并非法收受巨额财物，涉嫌受贿犯罪。其行为严重违反党的纪律，构成职务违法并涉嫌犯罪，性质恶劣，影响严重。依据《中国共产党纪律处分条例》《中华人民共和国监察法》等有关规定，经成都市纪委常委会会议研究并报市委批准，决定给予张军开除党籍处分；由市监委给予其开除公职处分；收缴其违纪违法所得；将其涉嫌犯罪问题移送检察机关依法审查起诉。此案再次彰显了中共坚定不移推进全面从严治党、坚决惩治腐败的鲜明态度和坚定决心。
