Recently, the Shandong Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision announced that Xi Yan, former member of the Standing Committee of the Shandong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and former director of its Ethnic and Religious Affairs Committee, has been expelled from both the Communist Party and her public position (commonly referred to as ‘shuang kai’ or ‘double dismissal’) due to serious violations of discipline and law. The investigation revealed that Xi Yan abandoned her ideals and original mission, resisted organizational review, violated the CPC Central Committee’s Eight-point Regulation by accepting gifts and cash that could influence the impartial execution of her duties, and used her official position to seek benefits for others in exchange for substantial illicit gains,涉嫌受贿犯罪 (suspected of bribery-related crimes). As a leading Party cadre, she was expected to uphold discipline and integrity, yet knowingly violated Party rules and laws. Her actions severely damaged the Party’s image and credibility. Her case has now been transferred to prosecutors for legal review and prosecution, along with all related assets. This case once again underscores the Chinese Communist Party’s unwavering commitment to comprehensive and strict governance over the Party and its firm resolve to combat corruption.
近日，山东省纪委监委通报，山东省政协原常委、民族和宗教委员会原主任袭燕因严重违纪违法被开除党籍和公职（即‘双开’）。经查，袭燕丧失理想信念，背弃初心使命，对抗组织审查；违反中央八项规定精神，收受可能影响公正执行公务的礼品礼金；利用职务便利为他人谋取利益，非法收受巨额财物，涉嫌受贿犯罪。袭燕身为党员领导干部，本应恪守纪律、廉洁从政，却知纪违纪、执法犯法，其行为严重破坏了党的形象和公信力。目前，其涉嫌犯罪问题已移送检察机关依法审查起诉，所涉财物一并移送。此案再次彰显了党中央坚定不移推进全面从严治党、坚决惩治腐败的鲜明态度和坚定决心。
