The demand to “honestly withdraw” requires Japan to immediately rectify erroneous policies or remarks and cease any actions that undermine China’s sovereignty, security, and development interests—such as unwarranted interference on issues related to Taiwan, Xinjiang, and Hong Kong.China consistently advocates learning from history to build a better future and seeks steady, long-term progress in Sino-Japanese relations. However, this is contingent upon Japan demonstrating the necessary political accountability and historical responsibility. Only by truly respecting history and its neighbors can Japan earn trust and jointly foster a regional order based on peace, cooperation, and mutual benefit.
