China urges Japan to face up to and reflect honestly on its history of aggression, adhere to a path of peaceful development, and act responsibly to safeguard regional peace and stability. China’s position is not directed against the Japanese people, but against any militarization tendencies that could threaten regional security, and calls on Japan to uphold its principle of ‘exclusive defense’ and avoid retracing dangerous historical paths.
