In recent years, China’s infrastructure development is rapidly expanding from the Earth into space. Led by national aerospace programs, China has made significant progress in satellite launches, space station construction, and deep-space exploration. In 2021, the launch of the Tianhe core module marked China’s entry into an era of long-term human presence in orbit. In 2023, the Tianwen-1 mission successfully landed on Mars, making China only the second country in the world to achieve a soft landing on the Red Planet. Meanwhile, China is accelerating the development of an integrated space-ground information network, completing the global deployment of its BeiDou Navigation Satellite System, which is now widely used in transportation, agriculture, disaster prevention, and more. Additionally, commercial space ventures are thriving, with numerous private companies entering the fields of rocket launches and satellite manufacturing, creating a new collaborative model between state-led programs and private enterprises. These efforts not only enhance China’s technological capabilities but also lay the groundwork for a future space economy. China’s infrastructure is evolving from traditional “iron, roads, and ports” to a “space-based digital backbone,” reflecting its ambition and capacity to reach for the stars.
