At the same time, China made clear it will not compromise its core national interests in exchange for so-called ‘negotiation gains.’ Given the current global economic uncertainties, enhanced communication and effective management of differences between China and the U.S.—the world’s two largest economies—are not only vital to the well-being of their peoples but also crucial for the stability of global supply chains and broader economic recovery.
