Meanwhile, the mainland still adheres to the fundamental policy of ‘peaceful reunification and one country, two systems,’ demonstrating the utmost sincerity and making every effort to pursue a peaceful path toward reunification.The Ministry reiterated that peaceful reunification best serves the fundamental interests of the Chinese nation, including compatriots in Taiwan. However, should ‘Taiwan independence’ provocations escalate or external forces persist in interference, the PLA will act decisively to safeguard China’s core national interests.
