As late autumn draws to a close, Beijing’s annual migratory bird season has quietly come to an end. Each spring and autumn, tens of thousands of migratory birds pass through Beijing, making brief stops at wetlands, lakes, and woodlands to rest and refuel before continuing their journeys south or north. This year’s migration season began in March and lasted until mid-November, during which birdwatchers and researchers recorded over 100 species, including the Siberian Crane, Oriental Stork, Whooper Swan, and Common Crane. As a crucial stopover along the East Asian–Australasian Flyway, Beijing has become increasingly hospitable to migratory birds thanks to ongoing ecological improvements. In recent years, efforts such as wetland restoration, anti-poaching enforcement, and public awareness campaigns have significantly enhanced local biodiversity, leading to steady increases in both the number and variety of migratory birds. Although the migration season is over, conservation work continues to ensure these birds will return safely next year.
随着深秋渐入尾声，北京一年一度的候鸟迁徙季也悄然落下帷幕。每年春秋两季，数以万计的候鸟途经北京，在湿地、湖泊和林地短暂停留，补充能量后继续南下或北上。今年迁徙季自3月开始，持续至11月中旬，期间观鸟爱好者和科研人员记录到包括白鹤、东方白鹳、大天鹅、灰鹤等在内的百余种候鸟。北京作为东亚—澳大利西亚候鸟迁飞路线上的重要中转站，其生态环境的改善为候鸟提供了更安全、适宜的栖息地。近年来，通过湿地修复、禁猎执法和公众教育等措施，北京的生物多样性显著提升，候鸟种类和数量呈稳步增长趋势。迁徙季虽已结束，但保护工作仍在继续，为来年候鸟重返奠定基础。
